The principle of dual control, global project management of multilingual documents, and controlled added-value services in the translation process (DTP, terminology compilation, style guidelines) are some of the marks of quality which define LÓPEZ-EBRI® and its products, and which were adopted in the new European standard for translation services DIN EN 15038:2006.
The name LÓPEZ-EBRI® is closely linked with this standard; indeed Enrique López-Ebri played a key role in the standard's development, as the chairman of the DIN committee.
In September 2007, LÓPEZ-EBRI® had its quality management system audited and certified to the new standard by TÜV (Süd) – the German technical inspectorate – in a move that set a precedent for the translation industry. LOPEZ-EBRI® became the first translation company in Europe to be certified to both ISO and EN standards.
