LÓPEZ-EBRI^® now offers the possibility of exporting the CMS-maintained content of websites in XML-file format and re-importing the translation at the click of the mouse.

Before a website is translated, the first thing that has to be clarified is whether it is a static or a dynamic site.
In the case of static sites, all the HTML web pages can be handed over to LÓPEZ-EBRI^® for translation exactly as they are on your server. The website is returned to you in its final translated form (including all metatext, search terms, etc.). There is no need to import the texts. After translation, the pages can simply be placed "beside" the German site and a link installed from the German site.
Dynamic systems, such as those maintained by a content management system, cannot, however, be handed over as HTML pages. The texts must be exported from the content management system and re-imported after translation.
Therefore, the content management system must offer a way of putting the translations, including all formatting, back in the correct place. In most cases, the solution is the XML structure which even enables, passages that have already been translated to be identified and blocked to prevent further editing.
The challenge for the translation company is that both HTML and XML tags appear in the same document. It must be ensured that these different structures are retained when using translation memory systems, otherwise the import into the content management system will fail and the texts will be not be displayed correctly on the website.
Paricular attention must be paid to how special characters are handled in the foreign languages, because of course they too have to read correctly on the site.
