Professional project management is a vital part of every translation project. It can be very demanding, especially for multilingual projects, depending on the number of languages involved. But it also plays a vital role in ensuring the quality of the resulting translations.
The greater the number of languages, the more translators and revisers are required. Schedules must be agreed between everyone involved in the translation process and the customer, while issues concerning the actual content need to be coordinated across all the required languages. A great deal of time goes into dealing with complex questions, which may also necessitate clarification with the customer.
Translation projects (e.g. catalogues, price lists and instruction manuals) which involve the integration of our translation into the original layout (InDesign, FrameMaker etc.) require additional coordination to ensure consistent and coherent presentation of your products and services in all languages.
In spite of all this, you will not find a separate item for project management on your invoice because, at LÓPEZ-EBRI, this service is included in the translation price. Only in exceptional circumstances, entailing an unusually large amount of time and work, will a separate charge be made. We will, of course, advise you of this in advance.
